An Overview of the Year 2012

2012 started with a rush of activity in January with the filming for TV Series Salvage Hunters.
Our ever popular Burn's Night was quickly followed by our most successful Wedding Fayre to date http://vimeo.com/36037440
In high demand we were back on screen in February, this time on the BBC with Escape to the Country.
We went sprinting off into March with our Sports Relief Mile that really did fill us with pride raising over £400 before sponsorship which we could not have achieved without you.
Slowing things down to a much more sedate pace by June we were enjoying our wonderful parkland and gardens with the NGS.
Steaming into July and back by popular demand, open air theatre with Heartbreak Productions award winning The Railway Children, and we opened our gates again to an audience of over 100 for their spectacular Noel Coward's Private Lives.
August and we were back front of camera, this time with Lynda Bellingham and Helen J Simpson, taking us neatly into September with the airing of My Tasty Travels with Lynda Bellingham on ITV.
All of this interspersed with some of the most stunning weddings we have ever seen here at Burton Court. Our brides are inspired by the surroundings and continuously come up with unique and original ideas that we are only too happy to entertain.

Wedding Fayre Success

A record turn out for both wedding couples and exhibitors at Burton Court's Wedding Fayre.

National Wedding Recognition

A recent wedding will have national recognition when it is featured in the Wedding Ideas magazine in their 'Real theme inspiration page' wedding spread. Amy and Dan's wedding was full of intricate touches and an attention to detail that was second to none. The delicious high tea was inspired by visiting an upmarket Tea Salon in San Francisco. Wanting to create something similar for their own wedding we created a high tea as a really ritzy occasion with tea sandwiches, scone and cakes with homemade jams and all washed down with lashings of delicious tea and Prosecco Rose. To the surprise and delight of Amy and Dan when they were first viewed it was explained that Queen Anne visited Burton Court in 1937 when she also had tea in the Great Hall with the Lady of the Manor - Mrs Clowes. The records state that the Queen wore white gloves that she didn't take off even when she ate her cucumber sandwiches! The Wedding Ideas magazine publication will be released nationally on the 1st December 2010.

Its Black and White

A special discount is now available for coach parties booked up on the Black and White Village Trail for guided tours with lunches or teas for numbers of up to 60 guests, please contact Edward for more details.

During the quieter autumn months we have been undertaking a large landscaping project in the gardens. Hundreds of square meters of stone is being laid for ease of walking in the main areas of the garden and the whole upper terrace of the gardens is levelled and customised to host marquee events for up to 450 guests. Also being installed is a state of the art outdoor lighting system out in the gardens; this means that all the colours of the rainbow can be adjusted to suit the event that you are planning. This work will be fully complete by February in readiness for when the weather picks up. Please contact Edward to find out how Burton Court can host your large party requirements.
